    Timeline

I made this cosplay in the shorted amount of time, out of any cosplay I have made myself. I started this cosplay on October 24 and finished it on October 30th, in time for Halloween. This was inspired by Thomas Sanders' video "The Nightmare Before SPIRIT CHRISTMAS! | Sanders Asides" where Thomas assigned each of the characters in his series a Nightmare Before Christmas character. He assigned Virgil the character Sally so I decided to create a cosplay based on Sally's dress but with Virgils colors and patterns.

This cosplay was my first time making nearly every element from scratch.

    Dress

To make the dress I bought 4 different fabrics. I took each fabric and strategically cut out pieces to connect them together, almost like a puzzle. I used my sewing machine to sew the fabric together piece by piece, opting to top stitch all of the fabric in order to make it lay flatter.

I then altered a sewing pattern to create the dress silhouette similar to Sallys dress.

I then took white embroidery thread to make the cross-stitching patterns over each seam on the dress.

4 diffrent fabrics (purple plaid, purple, black, and spiderweb) set out in a patchwork design.

   Wig

When making the wig I took a fishnet wig cap, and a chunky yarn.

I measured out yarn double the length I wanted the wig to be and tied off the ends to avoid any fraying. I then started tying yarn to the edge to make a hairline. I then tied two lines right next to each other over the top of the head to make a part line. After that all I did was fill in any spots that showed the wig cap, since the thickness of the yarn meant I didn't have to tie to much yarn to reach the density I wanted.
